Born in Henan Province in 1987, he majored in Chinese painting at the Art School of Renmin University of China, and is a contemporary Chinese ink artist.
When I first came to Songzhuang, I didn't know where I was going, I was lost in a big city, I didn't know what to do, I didn't know what to draw, so I started to draw a young man lost in the city, the person in the picture is always at the intersection, there is an ideal "deer" around him once in a while, but there is no way out. The Midnight Series is also about my second year in Songzhuang, I found a studio, so my perspective shifted to indoor, many nights, I couldn't sleep, looking at the clock at midnight, it gave me a lot of magnificent space, so I started to paint these strange nights, and let it record the stories of the late night for me. --Chai Le
