Junna Maruyama was born in 1999 in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. She graduated from Japan Women's College of Fine Arts, Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Plastic Arts, under the tutelage of Kazuki Takamatsu, an artist of "Distance Artism" in Japan. Junna Maruyama is good at using vivid colors to express the little melancholy of adolescent girls. Behind the exaggerated and lovely two-dimensional cartoon images, her works present the negative feelings of the society that people often avoid and ignore through the magical language of symbols.
