Huang Po-Hsun

Continuing Crown's elegance and expressive nature, Wong Pak-hun's work develops a number of visual elements between abstraction and figuration: interesting combinations of branches, rocks, flora and fauna, and text, with subtle and vivid color shifts, resembling the haloing of light, or the haze of the watery depths. In this new series, Huang Pak-hun has added the element of "character", which has never existed before, that is, the wooden man. The wooden figures here are like any characters around us, it could be you or me. The artist hopes that the purpose of "de-charactering" is that the wooden figures can be projected as any characters, sitting on anything unusual or fantastical, thinking, debating, walking in the forest, and looking forward to the sky light.
