Jieun Park

Jieun Park is working on a style of painting that can depict different forms of nightfall through the same pattern.
While the light of the moonlight is used to outline the base of the painting, Jieun Park creates other lights through which the silhouette of the city is seen, and the brushstrokes of various shapes cover the silhouette of the city.
Alluding to the stories that you don't know are happening in each building. Each story is like a subtle movie. Moonlight is often used as a symbol, not only in Asian art, but also in fairy tales around the world. Her A little talk series was shown in a solo exhibition at AP Contemporary in Hong Kong and received great attention.
Reflecting on the concept of her artwork, the South Korean-based artist explains, "I wanted to reflect in my creations what I felt when I traveled, and I still clearly remember the lonely feeling in my heart when I looked down at the city under the moonlight during my journey."
