For the past 15 years, Karen Axikyan has devoted himself to making extraordinary metal sculptures that form a vast menagerie of diverse wildlife. His sculptures exude a unique emotional quality and each piece seems to dictate its own expression, an approach that adds an element of spontaneity to his creative process. Despite a lack of formal cultural education, Asikyan's artistic sensibilities were nurtured by a neighboring artist whose work served as a guiding influence in his formative years.
