Born in Nanyang, Henan Province in 1971, Xu Songbo graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Henan University in 1993 with a B.F.A., and graduated from the Mural Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts with an M.F.A. in 2005, where he has been teaching in the Department of Comprehensive Painting of the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts since 2005 as an Associate Professor and M.F.A. Supervisor. Xu Songbo's art creations are mostly related to his personal experience and western expedition. Since he graduated from the graduate school of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2005, he has started the series of creations of "Taoist Questioning" for 8 years, which also solved a series of personal problems from spirit to reality, and then he began to move to another theme of "Tang Style" series creations. After that, he started to create another series of works with the theme of "Tang Style".
