Hu Guidong

Each of my works tells a story, I use stage, theater and landscape to create an ideal world, and in this way I convey my feelings to the viewer, awakening people's concern for animals and the environment. The lives of animals and humans should be equal, they have their own ways of expression and areas of life, I often use anthropomorphic techniques to depict a utopian world where all beings are equal. I am a man of few words, but I especially like to ponder over things. There is no need to express too much in language and words, what is on the screen is what I have to say, and the viewer has his own thoughts and judgment. As an idealist in reality, I hope the viewers can see the harmony of nature in my pictures. I hope that my works can be understood by the viewers and then leave some space for their imagination. --Artist's Statement
