Min Rui

Chinese artist, geometric abstract painter. Currently lives in Australia and is a mother of two.
As a mother, Mindy read hundreds of children's picture books with her children. Her inner creativity was awakened and her childhood dreams were rekindled, so she returned to art school to begin her journey into the visual arts.
At first she wanted to be a children's picture book illustrator and studied under Australian illustrator Warren Crossette. However, after being exposed to twentieth-century Western art movements, she was struck and fascinated. Abstract Art, Hard Edge Painting, Constructivism, Op Art, Surrealism, Minimalism ...... The study and understanding of these schools of painting seemed to give her a pair of abstract glasses through which she saw the world as full of lines, shapes, dimensions, and a variety of colors.
