Ken Amano Takeru Amano

Ken Amano is a Japanese painter and sculptor born in Tokyo in 1977. The son of the painter Yoshitaka Amano, he was introduced to the art world at an early age and moved to New York City in 1997, where he studied sculpture for several years.Upon his return to Japan in the early 2000s, he began to paint in earnest, and has since exhibited his work in solo and group shows in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Paris. Ken Amano's paintings are characterized by bold colors and the use of Takashi Murakami's popular graphic "hyperplane" style. His work blends pop art aesthetics with mythological themes, as evidenced by his interpretation of Venus, a recurring character in his work.
